In all due respect, most scanners people buy are made to scan documents rather than pictures... but still!
Anyway, without the original to compare with I really don't know how it's supposed to look like, the pencils seem to have a nice texture.
One thing that certainly isn't lost is the feeling you manage to out into the face, here I get one of slight despair, he knows that the snow will make it very difficult to find food, but there's a glimmer of determination, just enough to make me think that he'll manage.
Btw- probably I'll finish your commission tomorrow
