"Lack of detail" seems to be your favourite phrase ;P

If you still haven't figured it out, I am more of concept artist rather than realist. I've moved away from the overly detailed works, because... they don't work for me. I see no joy in sitting for hours and hours on the detail. And the detail will never reach perfection

On the contrary, I looked up your works. All I can say is "too much focus on detail". Sometimes the best way to judge an artwork is to step back few feets from the monitor. Please consider that

Also, I will create a progress comparison soon. So that you can see what I mean

If you're relating on that super high detailed

MESS that once started as commission, then you're right.
This got definately too much of everything ^^
But I'm not a great fan of Speedpaint, all they got is mood, no detail.
But well, works for some folks, so I won't complain.
I'm always ready to learn a lesson from the masters.

Exactly what my art teacher is saying. She is an amazing teacher, and I learned to not judge my stuff THAT hard as I usually do :)

And the Tolkien... it's amazing. More (lol, like I could decide for you).
